Cambodia will deposit in a lease five islands in the Gulf of Thailand for the construction of resorts for tourists for 627 million dollars to local and foreign investors.
"The implementation of these projects as a magnet will attract thousands of foreign tourists, among who health resorts are very popular" - the Cambodian Commerce Minister Chom Prasa told to reporters. According to him, 6 Cambodian companies became the partners of the authorities, these companies recently signed an agreement on long-term lease of the islands. According to the document, investors must submit a detailed plan to build an island resort in a year.
The rapid development of the Cambodian tourism industry would give impetus to the revival of Cambodia. Last year, this former French colony was visited by more than half a million tourists.
